Dassault Systèmes launches Nationwide Product Design Contest - AAKRUTI 2019

AAKRUTI is Dassault Systèmes Nationwide Product Design Contest. AAKRUTI was launched back in 2011 and has received tremendous response from all over India. Each year AAKRUTI brings a different theme with students surpassing the expectations with their innovative designs and ideas.


The main objective of AAKRUTI is to reach out to every students and professor across all Indian Colleges and Universities to make them aware of the latest trends and innovations in the Product Design and Manufacturing domain. AAKRUTI encourages students to showcase their design skills, creativity, and innate talent and to use this contest as a platform to design a product that can be commercially manufactured.



Dassault Systèmes will offer a limited period license of SOLIDWORKS education edition to all the registered teams to design and simulate their product ideas.


This year AAKRUTI comes with four different topics



Small is BIG, Smart ENERGY, Water is LIFE, Waste to Wealth to Wonder, Solidworks


1. Small is BIG: Research, Refine and Redesign to Optimize

Think, Re-engineer, simulate and validate existing product and optimize it. The optimized product should be smaller, lighter, faster and efficient and makes life easy.   ( Readmore )

2. Smart ENERGY: Power the Future

In the age of Smart Gadgets, let’s think of Smart Energy Designs. Can we create/convert products which smartly use only renewable energy and be champions of green energy? These products could be for Offices, homes, villages and remote areas.  ( Readmore )

3. Water is LIFE: Harness and Protect for Future

Explore ways to use water for energy generation and transportation to create a green and sustainable environment? Think of how to protect the ocean and aquatic life from contamination and harmful plants. Can we design a product to design to achieve this? Can we design products for villages and remote communities to avail clean /drinkable water?.  ( Readmore )

4. Waste to Wealth to Wonder: REDUCE - REUSE - RECYCLE

Can we look at ‘waste’ from a different perspective to create a greener and sustainable environment? Trigger your imagination and device a mechanism, which can convert solid, liquid, organic waste, recyclable waste & hazardous waste in a meaningful way to generate wealth for the country and wonder for the world.  ( Readmore )



The process includes 4 steps Registration, Theme selection, Final Design Submission, Contest finale. In the final stage of the contest. AAKRUTI 2019 winners will be announced after the final presentation. Selected teams will be invited for the Final Presentation before our esteemed Jury.
