The best software for 3D Modelling

Insights on Aerospace & Defense, from 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM 2019, Bengaluru

The economic growth and government push are giving the A&D ( Aerospace & Defense) sector a boost. India's A&D market is expected to reach USD 70 billion by 2030. The 3DEXPERIENCE Forum 2019 held in Bengaluru, brings us insights and ideas for sustainable innovation in the A&D sector, overcoming traditional challenges and more from the industries leading professionals and experts.

The forum was conducted in 4 different sessions with Panelists for the session included PG Jayan, AGM, HAL, Captn. V. GANAPATHY, Superintendent (Engineering), Cochin Shipyard, Dr. Byji Varughese, Principal Scientist, NAL, and R Subodh, COO, Maini Aerospace, with Patrick Fardeau Aerospace & Defense Vice President, Global Sales and Market Development, Dassault Systèmes taking on the role of the moderator.

The panelists detailed how in a complex system environment, what mattered was the ability to “see the big picture — almost the system of the systems” to better integrate multiple elements and levers. R. Subodh also spoke about how in a climate of Make in India, the country’s A&D sector offered limitless possibilities: “We’ve got a phenomenal opportunity now — there’s a lot of innate talent in manufacturing in this country that’s yet to be tapped, I can see lots of foreign majors continuing to come in.”

The next session had Srinivasan Chokkalingam, Sr. Manager – IT Product Systems, BOEING speaking about the “2 CES at Boeing”, encapsulating digital transformation in his company. “2CES or 2nd Century Enterprise Systems helps with faster decision-making, cost management, and better productivity,” he outlined.

The 3rd section was all about deep- dive into drones technology and how they will evolve in the future. Both Henry Devanandham, System Engg. Consultant at General Aeronautics and Kiran Jacob, Technical Specialist at Dassault Systèmes expressed their thought on Model-Based Systems Engineering for drone designing and how they are looking forward to extending their partnership in the future for better drone technology.

The main focus of the theme was about simulation - Advanced Simulation “With 3DEXPERIENCE, we can combine multi-scale and multi-physical aspects, for sharper analysis” and its ability to address “composites-based challenges” — with Rajesh Kumar, Senior Scientist, Gas Turbine Research Establishment, and Bhavesh Kumar, Director, SIMULA, Dassault Systèmes taking the dias.

Finally, Chinmaya Hardas, Brand Leader ENOVIA India, Dassault Systèmes elaborated on Collaborative Project Management for Defense Infrastructure Development, through the intricacies of any infrastructure project, powered by several tools, like analytics and 3D modeling. “Key aspects include tactics like a Schedule of Rate, Bill of Quantity, E- measurements, and the like,” he added. “In Construction, Transmittals are key; and our dashboards are very strong which can tag risks or issues, upfront, managing timelines.”

How AR & VR is Reshaping Our Industries?

AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) is rewriting the meaning of visual communication. It is now possible that we can create our own reality out of our current environment with the help of the mobile phone, camera, smart glass, and VR headsets, which takes us to the virtually created environment where we can move around our self.  With such unreal, impactful technology, visual communication is finding new possibilities and much more precise experience to every sector it enters. We are going to deep dive into some of how AR/VR will change the way industries are reshaping the near future. 1. AR & VR in the Workplace. Workplaces are already changing with technologies and new tools. VR and AR are playing a significant role in reshaping the workplace of the future. Soon, VR headsets are going to replace our work desk and will shift the way teams learn, interact, and communicate with customers in ways never thought possible. The idea of accessing real-time data w

3D Generative Innovator: A browser-based on-the-cloud generative modeling environment

3D Generative Innovator The 3D Generative Innovator role delivers a browser-based on-the-cloud generative modeling environment that uniquely combines graphical visual scripting and interactive 3D-modeling, with the ability to use one or the other interchangeably at any time. This role extension allows you to design any shapes and patterns using CATIA parametric modeling technology with high automation. This new, intuitive and smart approach allows creative people in Architecture, Design/Styling and Engineering to quickly design, explore and validate variations of complex, repetitive and non-regular shapes and patterns. All created geometry is available to be used in the world of detailed design and manufacture through the rich portfolio of roles on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Uniquely, at any stage of the design, the user can swap freely between the graph and the interactive 3D, as these are bi-directionally dynamically sync’ed. For instance, the user can start a command
